Partnering With Going Places: Donated Tees for Joy-Filled Kids in Charleston

At Palmetto Blended, we believe the heart of our work isn’t only in crafting premium apparel — it's in forging meaningful connections with organizations that uplift and inspire our community. That’s why we are honored to partner with Going Places, a Charleston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission brought us to say “yes” before we even knew the details.

Who Going Places Is

Founded by Katie Blomquist, a former elementary school teacher, Going Places provides disadvantaged children with their most basic childhood right: joy.

As Katie explains, “It’s not about the bike, it’s what the bike represents. It’s freedom and escape from an unpredictable home life.”

Originally working at a Title I school in Charleston, Katie’s mission grew from one student’s wish for a bike into a full-scale nonprofit that surprises children with bikes, helmets, locks, and the thrill of a “reveal.”

Today, Going Places works closely with Charleston County Title I schools and beyond—helping anchor joy and belonging in young lives.

Our Contribution: Donated Tees for the Reveal Event

For their upcoming “reveal” event—where children are surprised with brand-new bikes and all the gear that comes with them—Going Places reached out asking for something special: custom tees that reflect the joy and pride of the occasion.

We stepped in and donated a batch of beautifully printed shirts, designed and executed with the same high-end quality we provide to our premium brand clients—but this time with a different purpose.

Each tee carries the message of joy, possibility, and community. On the day of the event, the kids will wear these shirts—capturing a moment of pride, empowerment, and inclusion. Knowing the shirt we printed may be one of the first tangible reminders that “someone believes in me” is what makes this truly meaningful.
