Custom Illustration
Idea → Artwork
Design → Production
Some customers have a polished vector logo. Others have an idea, screenshot, old shirt, sketch or sentence. We can meet the project where it starts and build the artwork around where it needs to end up.
Original graphics developed specifically for shirts, hoodies, hats and branded merchandise—not artwork awkwardly forced onto them later.
Illustrated concepts, hand-drawn-inspired graphics, location artwork, objects, characters and custom visual ideas built around your brief.
Races, festivals, anniversaries, tournaments, fundraisers, reunions, retreats and event graphics designed to feel specific to the moment.
School, team, club and organization graphics using approved mascots, marks, typography, slogans and custom illustrated elements.
Clean up or adapt existing branding so it works better on apparel, embroidery, hats and promotional products while respecting the original identity.
Type-driven graphics, emblems, badges, seals and merch marks that can become strong standalone artwork even when you do not need a full illustration.
Apparel has fabric, print areas, seams, ink counts, thread, garment colors and real production limits. Good merch artwork accounts for those constraints before the design reaches the press or embroidery machine.
Tiny detail and overly thin lines can disappear once the design leaves the screen and becomes ink, thread or another physical decoration.
The blank is effectively another design layer. Ink color, contrast and garment choice should be considered together instead of independently.
Screen printing, embroidery, DTF and other methods reproduce artwork differently. The design should fit the process instead of fighting it.
The strongest merch designs balance brand recognition with something your audience would genuinely choose to wear outside the event or workplace.
Tell us what the project is for, who will wear it, what you like, what you absolutely do not like and where the artwork will ultimately be used. References help. So do rough sketches and screenshots.
The better we understand the audience and the final product, the easier it is to create artwork that feels intentional instead of decorative.
If you already have a finished file, we can also review it before production and let you know whether cleanup or preparation is needed.
Low-resolution logos, screenshots, flattened JPEGs and old artwork are common. We can review what you have and tell you whether the file is usable, needs a simple fix or requires more substantial recreation.
Artwork review is free. If the file only needs a simple production fix, we'll tell you. If more extensive cleanup, rebuilding or design work is required, we'll define that before moving forward.
Raster vs. Vector →When a logo or graphic only exists as a small raster image, screenshot or poor-quality file, vector recreation may be needed so the artwork can scale and reproduce cleanly.

That helps us move more naturally from concept to proof to production across apparel, headwear and branded merchandise.
Tell us the project, audience, product, required wording, references, brand assets and the date the finished merchandise is needed.
We review what you supplied and determine whether the job needs simple production prep, vector recreation, refinement or original design work.
The concept is built around the approved direction and prepared with the intended product and decoration method in mind.
Review the final digital proof carefully. Once required approvals and payment are complete, the project can move into production.

Palmetto Blended provides custom graphic design and illustration for businesses, schools, churches, teams, events, restaurants, fitness brands and organizations in Charleston, the Lowcountry and beyond.
Unlike a standalone creative project, much of our design work is developed specifically for something physical—T-shirts, hoodies, hats, uniforms, promotional products and branded merchandise.

Often, yes. Artwork review is free. A simple production fix may be possible, while small raster files, screenshots or badly degraded artwork may require vector recreation or more substantial rebuilding. We will let you know what is needed before that work begins.
Vector artwork is built from scalable paths rather than fixed pixels, so it can usually be resized without losing sharpness. It is especially useful for many screen printing, embroidery and promotional-product workflows. AI, EPS and SVG are common vector formats, while a production-ready PDF may also contain vector artwork.
Yes. Send the best file you have and we can review whether it is suitable for the intended production method. If original design, major revisions, vector recreation or other paid artwork work is needed, the scope should be identified before that work moves forward.
Creative cost depends on the scope of the project. Simple artwork preparation is different from original illustration, multiple concepts or extensive revisions. After reviewing the brief and supplied artwork, Palmetto Blended can identify the design work required and any applicable creative fee before proceeding.
We can help with logo refinement, merch adaptations and selected original identity work depending on the project scope. If you already have established brand standards, provide them so the new artwork stays consistent with the existing identity.
Yes. New artwork and artwork changes are reviewed through a digital proof before custom production. Check spelling, dates, artwork, placement and other project details carefully before approving the proof.
Our design service is especially valuable when it is connected to apparel and merchandise production because the artwork can be developed around the actual product and decoration method. If you need a design-only project, contact us with the scope and intended use so we can determine whether it is a fit.
Artwork ownership and release of production files depend on the project and the applicable Palmetto Blended terms. Customer-supplied artwork remains subject to the customer's rights to use it, while production assets and created files may be governed by separate terms. Review the current Terms & Policies or ask before beginning if file ownership or transfer is important to the project.
Send the concept, references, logo, wording, product and deadline. We'll review what you have and help determine the creative work needed to turn the idea into production-ready merchandise.
